THREE PROGRAMS, ONE FUTURE BEYOND BURNS

COANIQUEM BCF focuses its support on three programs that help children access specialized care, continue their education, and benefit from advances in pediatric burn treatment

SPONSOR A CHILD

Specialized care for children of Latin America

For children with complex burn injuries, the specialized rehabilitation they need may not exist in their home country. COANIQUEM BCF helps make it possible for international patients from across Latin America to receive comprehensive treatment at COANIQUEM in Chile.

Support can cover the entire journey — from travel and accommodation to medical evaluations, surgery, laser therapy, physical and occupational rehabilitation, compression garments, psychosocial care, and follow-up after a child returns home.

$4,300

average cost of one full year of in-person rehabilitation for an international child

Including travel, accommodation and comprehensive multidisciplinary care.

42

international patients expected to receive support in 2026

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Training tomorrow’s burn-care specialists.

BCF-funded scholarships bring physicians, therapists, and other health professionals from across Latin America and the Caribbean to COANIQUEM in Chile, where they train directly in the COANIQUEM model of comprehensive pediatric burn rehabilitation.

These professionals then carry that model home — expanding access to quality burn care across the region.

RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

Better data. Better care. Better futures

BCF supports research and innovation that advance how pediatric burns are understood, treated, and prevented across Latin America.

Through COANIQUEM, this work helps build stronger evidence, improve treatment pathways, and expand knowledge that can benefit children far beyond a single rehabilitation center.
